Search inside a chat on Windows
May 26, 2026 • By the Trillian Team

This update to Trillian for Windows is about finding things. You can search the conversation you have open from a new find bar, and the emoji browser gets a search box of its own.

Find it in the chat

The chat window has its own find bar now. Press Ctrl+F, type what you're looking for, and press Enter to step through the matches one at a time, right where you're reading.

Type what you're after into the emoji browser instead of scrolling for it. Hover over an emoji and it's shown zoomed in, so you can see exactly which one you're about to pick.

Smaller things

Unread in chats out of view

When a chat window's list of chats is too long to show them all, a marker at its foot counts the unread messages in the ones out of view, and clicking it scrolls the list to them. You can use formatting while editing a message Pro. Reactions Pro have separate settings for private chats and channels, and there are new screens for buying and managing Trillian Pro Pro. Media you attach sits in its own area, apart from your text. KLIPY GIFs that people send you now show up, and scrollbars in the built-in skin have rounded corners.

Two fixes worth knowing about: silent messages sent to you no longer make a sound or show a notification, and sign-in no longer skips telling you when a password is wrong.

Try it out

Update, and the next time you're hunting for something someone said, give the find bar a try.
