Three months after we rewrote the Android app, it's the iPhone's turn. Trillian 7.0 for iOS is rebuilt for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, with the glass look of iOS 26, photos that arrive together as one image cluster, and a full Trillian app on your wrist again. Come take the tour.
Made for iOS 26, ready for iOS 27
Glass info screensDark mode throughout
The whole app takes on the glass look of iOS 26, with dark mode throughout. It looks right at home on iOS 27, too, which arrives this fall. Info screens are built around a large avatar on a floating glass card.
The iPad changed the most. It has a layout of its own now, and on iPadOS 26 you get a floating glass sidebar, with your conversations in their own pane.
Image clusters
Send several photos together and they arrive as one image cluster, a stack of cards you can swipe. Before you send, photos and videos wait in the compose bar as small previews.
Tap the count to see them all
The new full-screen viewer
Tap the count badge to see them all in a grid, and tap a photo in the chat to open the rebuilt full-screen viewer. Swipe down when you're done looking.
Apple Watch, rebuilt
Apple Watch has a full Trillian app again, rebuilt from scratch. It handles your chats, photos, videos, voice clips, and reactions Pro.
New in your conversations
Edit what you've sentReact with emoji
You can now edit messages you've sent Pro, and long-press any message to react with emoji Pro, in channels too.
Bold, italics and code
Messages can carry bold, italics, and code written in Markdown, and there's a setting to turn the formatting off.
Link previewsVoice clips
Links to YouTube, Instagram, and other sites expand into preview cards. Voice clips have a new design, with a live waveform you can scrub through.
Read by everyone
In channels, a triple checkmark means everyone has read your message.
The chat list, redesigned
Rows in the chat list now show two-line previews, round unread badges, and read receipts. Flag a conversation to mark it unread, and it sorts above the ones you've read. Swipe a row to favorite, flag, mute, archive, or delete it.
Drafts wait for you
Jump to what's new
Anything you typed but didn't send waits for you as a draft. Inside a chat, scroll up and a jump-to-bottom button appears, with your unread count on it.
A new way in
Signing in starts on a new welcome screen, with seasonal scenes that change through the year.
Your PIN at sign-inCodes that fill themselves in
You set up a PIN Enterprise during sign-in and enter it on Trillian's own keypad, and two-factor works with any authenticator app Enterprise, with codes that autofill.
A few more things
Photos you send have their metadata removed before they leave your phone, location and camera details included, and everything Trillian stores on the device is in an encrypted database.
It's faster, too. The largest accounts now sign in within seconds, tapping a bubble responds right away, big photos no longer hog memory, and scrolling through history holds steady while older messages load.
Emoji are updated to JoyPixels 11, with a new player for animated emoji, and GIF search and trending come from KLIPY, since Google shut Tenor off for other apps. Contacts are always grouped, and you can sort them by first name, last name, or status. Channel operators can kick members from the info screen, sharing from another app goes straight to the conversation picker, and the translations were redone and checked in all 13 languages.
As for fixes, we went through the whole app for anything that could crash it or leak memory, and fixed a long list of them. Answering a call from a notification when Trillian wasn't running now connects reliably, and redialing a Trillian call from the iPhone's Recents list works again.
