Trillian Server now shows audit logs, the record of who changed what on your server. This Trillian Server 6.6 update also adds four policies for the desktop apps, and reworks how you browse chat history and users.
Four new policies set how your users' desktop apps behave: their notifications, their sounds, the badge color, and whether new chat windows open minimized. You can also set a policy for everyone in a group or team from its right-click menu, and the policy list is in alphabetical order now.
Chat history, sorted
Chat history is split into private conversations and channels, each sorted by newest activity. Messages show their emoji reactions, and media and files appear right in the conversation. Search matches display names and IM addresses as well.
Users at a glance
Users at a glanceWho it is, up top
In user management, inactive users are grouped together, and the list shows each user's status and message count and highlights what you searched for. A user's detail screen has their name, avatar, and status at the top, and you can select several users at once in more places.
The rest of this update
The media and file browser groups items by month and retries thumbnails that fail to load, and media previews zoom and pan, with a checkerboard behind transparent images. Emoji are updated to JoyPixels 11, and they show as JoyPixels in messages and in user, team, channel, and member lists. The emoji browser has new headers and a preview when you hover.
Type-to-search works in more admin lists. A built-in log viewer shows errors on startup, and connecting to something that isn't a Trillian server shows an error with the address and what came back.
Two certificate problems are fixed as well: a key size warning no longer appears for elliptic-curve certificates, and certificate validation no longer fails when the configuration data directory has been moved from its default.
