Trillian for Android is lighter and steadier, and ready for Android 17. Links, GIFs and channels get some welcome touches too: previews for posts on X, GIFs that arrive ready to play, and a line when someone new joins a channel.
Lighter, with GIFs that arrive ready
Photos, avatars, and message bubbles all take far less memory while you chat, so the app leaves more of your phone free for everything else. GIFs you pick download before they're sent, with a progress ring on them while they wait in the message box, so they play the moment they land. A /gif search finds its GIF before anything leaves the message box, then sends it along with whatever else you've added.
Previews for posts on X
A link to a post on X (Twitter) shows up in the chat as a card with the post's picture, so you can tell what was shared before you tap it.
Your words around a link

Write a few words around a link and all of them arrive: the words before and after the link's card each show in their own bubble. Link cards for YouTube, Instagram, X, and Imgur show the site's logo before its name, and a period or a closing bracket after a link stays part of your sentence.
See who just joined
When someone joins a channel while you're in it, a line in the conversation says so, so you know who's new before they've said a word.
Ready for Android 17, with steadier calls

Trillian is built for Android 17. Switch to another app in the middle of a call and your microphone stays on, and when the call ends, your volume keys, Bluetooth headset, and media go back to normal.
Urgent photos in a red frame Enterprise
An urgent photo, GIF or video sits in a red frame, so it stands out in the chat as clearly as an urgent message does. An urgent image cluster shows the urgent triangle too, with its photo count in red.
A clearer chats list

Bold words in a message show bold in the chats list, and the list and your notifications say link, GIF or video when that's what came in, instead of calling everything a photo.
Smoother chats and tablets
Busy chats run more smoothly, an image cluster and the next message from the same person flow together, and if you tap a photo in a cluster that hasn't downloaded yet, a download ring shows on that photo and it opens the moment it's here.

On a tablet, the camera uses the whole screen, with its buttons on the side away from the rear lens, so your hand stays clear of the lens when you reach for them.
Backup codes for two-factor sign-in Enterprise
Setting up two-factor sign-in shows your backup codes, with Copy and Print, so you can keep them somewhere safe in case you lose your authenticator app. And if your organization requires a fingerprint to open Trillian Enterprise, any strong biometric your phone supports on Android 11 and up counts.
Smaller things
When you scroll down a contact's info screen, their photo and name stay at the top, and linking a contact to your phone's address book shows their name and photo right away. While you're editing a message Pro, Enter always adds a new line instead of sending.
Among the fixes, messages you write while you're offline go out the moment you reconnect, and a message you delete before it goes out is canceled. Channels show their members' pictures the first time you open them, mention pills sit beside the words after them, and a muted chat stays quiet in the chats list. In Hungarian and Romanian, Trillian addresses you formally. We also fixed four freezes and a handful of crashes, including a rare one at sign-in right after answering the permission prompts.
