Trillian for Linux

Trillian for Linux lets you run a dedicated client on your Linux-based device, allowing notifications to appear across your desktop and allowing a Trillian icon to live persistently in your notifications area when supported. We support both Ubuntu and Debian-based Linux distributions.


Installing Trillian for Linux on Ubuntu

  1. Go to the Trillian download page and click the download link that best matches your particular version of Ubuntu, noting your version and whether you're running a 32-bit or 64-bit OS.
  2. Find the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and double click it to view Trillian in Ubuntu Software Center.
  3. Click the Install button on the upper right.
  4. Once installed, search your computer for Trillian and click the Trillian icon to start Trillian. You're now ready to sign in to Trillian!

Installing Trillian for Linux on Debian

  1. Go to the Trillian download page and click the download link that best matches your particular version of Debian, noting version and whether you're running a 32-bit or 64-bit OS.
  2. Open Terminal and type "sudo apt-get install ./filename", replacing "filename" with the full name of the file you downloaded.
  3. Click the Install button on the upper right.
  4. Once installed, search your computer for Trillian and click the Trillian icon to start Trillian. You're now ready to sign in to Trillian!
