Realtime Inbox

See your inbox by simply moving your mouse! Place your cursor over the mail account in your contact list and out pops your inbox.

Wider Previews

Several lines of text are shown for each message, now with word wrap ability. You can also configure a unique layout specifically for your mail accounts without changing your contacts or social feeds!

Instant Notification

Receive notifications of inbound email seconds after they arrive in your inbox (on supported services, such as Gmail, Yahoo!, Windows Live, AIM; requires an IM network connection to that provider)!

Mark As Read (and More)

Delete, archive, mark as spam, and mark as read from a simple right-click menu (when supported by the service), vastly reducing the amount of time you need to spend in your full-size inbox.

Preview Each Email Quickly

Your email accounts now function as groups, with each individual email appearing as a child of the account itself. When kept expanded, you can easily see your latest few messages at a glance without having to manipulate any UI controls.

Status Everywhere

You can configure Trillian to tweet your global IM status message changes, and make exceptions for auto-away status changes or "now playing" song status. Trillian also allows you to post your status to Facebook in that same action, if you so choose - you have complete control. Combined with our new Windows 7 Jump List features, this means you can even set your Twitter + Facebook + IM Status all from your Windows 7 Task Bar!

Character Count

The send button will now update with the number of remaining characters available to you on a per-service basis. This comes in special handy when working with size-restricted services such as Twitter. Trillian automatically calculates the characters you'll save by shortening URLs, sparing you the guesswork!

Confirm Before Retweet

Retweeting will now open up a chat window so you can edit the text before sending.

Tweet Right From The Contact List

Simply right-click the Twitter feed in your contact list and "Set Current Tweet" to post. Now you can quickly share your thoughts from the comfort of your Trillian contact list! Multiple Twitter accounts are supported, making it easier than ever to switch between alter egos. When the Twitter plugin is set to match Trillian status, a character count will automatically appear when you set your status for all IM and social services.

Put Notifications In Any Corner

You can now show notifications near your clock or in any corner of your screen, including support for multiple monitors!

Toggle Through Notifications

Notifications now come complete with next/back buttons. Advanced users can right click to dismiss single notifications at a time, or use the major "X" button to close the entire group at once.

No Repeats

Notification windows are now re-used when possible so that an offline notification and online notification aren't shown at the same time.

Links Within Notifications Are Now Clickable

Links within notification windows can now be directly clicked and opened within the your browser.

Group Notifications

Especially useful for incoming mail, notification windows of similar types are now automatically grouped together. When 10 new emails arrive at once, your desktop won't explode with 10 notification windows; instead, a single notification will appear explaining what's going on.

Twitter Searches

Twitter searches can now be monitored directly inside the contact list, giving you a handy way to track in realtime what people are saying about a particular search result. Displayed in your contact list and via notification alerts!

Follow Twitter Users

You can now follow and unfollow Twitter users directly from within Trillian.

Easier Replying

@username is now pre-filled in your reply window, replicating the familiar behavior of Twitter.

bit.ly and TinyURL Integration

Trillian 4.1 also supports bit.ly as a link shortener for Twitter. You can type in your bit.ly username and API key for more bit.ly features. Other bit.ly-compatible link shorteners can be used by typing in the URL for their API. TinyURL can be used without a username and password.

Jump Status

Set your status quickly from Trillian's Windows 7 Jump List. A handy Jump List menu appears when you right click the taskbar entry for Trillian. When you are not signed in yet, you can sign directly into a given Astra Account directly from the taskbar or Start Menu. After you've signed in, you can easily control your global status, or access your mail accounts right away.

Live Video Stream

During a video call you will now see a simple, live, video stream as a taskbar thumbnail!

Your online status is displayed right on the taskbar, similar to the existing system tray implementation, but with a much bigger and more handsome icon.

Full Chat Connection

Connect to Facebook Chat right in Trillian's connection manager, like all of your other accounts. Because your accounts are synchronized across devices, you won't have to set it up again when you use Trillian elsewhere. MetaContact support allows you to combine a friend's Facebook account with their other IM accounts.

Past Chats

Chat logs are now retained by Trillian just as they would with any other connection, and Pro users can now enjoy integration with Trillian Pro's centralized activity history.

Stream API Support

Trillian 4.1 supports Facebook's new stream API, and features additional improvements to private messaging on Facebook. All of the standard features from within your Facebook stream are now automatically pulled into Trillian's contact list.

Links Everywhere

The contact list, info card controls, and notification windows now all support linking! Not only are standard HTTP links recognized, but Trillian also links Twitter hash tags and @replies!

Avatars Everywhere

Notification windows and the contact list itself now support the rendering of user pictures whenever possible, making your Twitter and Facebook experiences much more personable. Tweet notifications also support our new notification combination feature.

Scroll To See More In Info Cards

You can now use scrollbars directly within info cards when information overflows. We've also improved the positioning of the info card controls to make them easier to manipulate and use throughout all of Trillian.

Different Views For Each Section

What might be right for you, may not be right for some - Trillian now supports different views for Mail, News, and Contacts. You can keep your Twitter and Facebook feed a compact "simple" view while using large icons for your contacts, and vice versa!

Like What You See?

Facebook posts now have clickable "Like" ability, so one click will show your support.

Instant Comment

You can now click to comment instantly on any Facebook post!

Join Facebook Apps

If your friend's post involves a particular Facebook app, Trillian will now provide a link to activate that app so you can join in.

Drag

As you're typing a new tweet, you can drag in an image from another application and it'll be included as a Twitpic.

Paste

Copied an image to your clipboard? Paste it in to any tweet that you've started typing. Trillian will take care of the rest!

Capture

Trillian Pro users can capture any part of their screen (by dragging a box around it) and include it as a Twitpic. An incredibly convenient way to share images on Twitter!

Automatic

Now you can include images directly in your Tweets! Trillian automatically handles the upload to Twitpic and subsequent linking. Trillian even updates your character count to include how much space your Twitpic's URL will take!
